Demolition
Tear-down & clearing, done clean
Demolition is equal parts power and precision. Taylor Earthworks tears down houses, barns, garages, foundations, pools, and outbuildings — then hauls the debris, manages disposal, and leaves you a clean lot ready for whatever's next.
Safety and control are everything. We disconnect and protect utilities, watch for hazardous materials, protect adjacent structures and landscaping, and bring the structure down in a controlled sequence. Concrete, wood, and metal are separated and recycled wherever possible to keep disposal costs and landfill load down.
Whether you're clearing the way for new construction or removing a derelict structure, we handle the permits, the machines, and the mess so you can move straight to the build.
How we approach it
Prep & permit
Pull permits, disconnect utilities, and screen for hazardous materials.
Protect
Shield adjacent structures, trees, and utilities before tear-down.
Demolish
Bring the structure down in a safe, controlled sequence.
Haul & clean
Sort and recycle debris, haul it off, and leave a clean lot.
Demolition questions
How much does demolition cost in Maine?
Demolishing a typical house in Southern Maine runs roughly $8,000 to $25,000 depending on size, foundation, access, disposal, and any hazardous-material abatement. Barns, garages, and smaller structures cost less. We quote each tear-down after a site visit.
Do you handle debris removal and disposal?
Yes — hauling, sorting, recycling, and disposal are included in our demolition work. We separate concrete, metal, and wood to recycle where possible and keep disposal costs reasonable.
Do I need a permit to demolish a building?
Most demolitions require a local permit, and utilities must be properly disconnected first. We help coordinate the permit and the disconnections as part of the project.
